Senior Level Designer
We are Fatshark
We are a critically acclaimed Swedish game development studio with about 190 experienced and skilled employees. We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
We have grown quite a bit over the last few years, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. We want to build the best first person co-op games together, in an approachable, fun and passion-driven way.
The role
As a Level Designer, you are responsible for the design and construction of levels, gameplay spaces and challenges, working mainly within Unreal. You have a keen eye for fun combat action, environmental composition and guidance, both in a first-person perspective and in a cooperative action game environment. Additional skillsets needed are visual scripting proficiency, low-level feature implementation, and work documentation.
Aside from crafting high-quality gameplay spaces, the Level Designer role requires communication, drive, creativity, and flexibility. At Fatshark, we separate the level design and level art roles, but an element of both mindsets are needed as the role bridges both design and art.
Your task is to create excellent player experiences through gameplay space design and the challenges they may contain. You’ll collaborate across teams and disciplines, from art and design to QA and production, in order to make the best game possible and uphold the game vision and quality targets on time. Working in a field where multiple crafts come together, feedback, issue flagging, and teamwork skills are crucial in your daily work.

Knowledge-sharing and mentoring of more junior team members
Analyze and suggest improvements for gameplay features and the level design toolbox

Who are we?
When we put Fatshark to sea in 2007, we wanted to create a place where talented people would come together and create awesome games. We did, and Fatshark is today a studio and publisher where great ideas spawn and reach the hands of countless players.
Equally important to us, we’ve never lost the joy that goes into creating great games. Over the years, we have created a habitat in which all kinds of fatsharks can thrive.
Cooperation is key
At Fatshark, we develop and publish cooperative games, where people come together to have fun and solve problems together. In a Fatshark game, you are given the freedom to succeed or fail trying as a group. And that's exactly the way we like it. Through teamwork in our games and in our studio, 1+1=3.
