We are Fatshark

We are an independent Swedish game development studio located in Södermalm, Stockholm. With about 100 experienced and skilled employees we have worked as contractors for a number of AAA projects, as well as developed titles with publishers and independently for both consoles and PC. Our most recent game is the critically acclaimed title Warhammer: Vermintide 2. We tackle every project, genre and setting with enthusiasm, professionalism and a cup of coffee.

The role

We are looking for a person to help us design and implement VO into our games. More specifically, we are looking for someone who has an ear for great voice over, for what sounds right and an understanding of how to take an idea and realize it in game.
As a VO Designer at Fatshark, you will plan, organize, design, implement and maintain all voice-related content during the development cycle of our games.
You will be working closely with the Narrative team to ensure that all of our VO transports our players into the worlds that we are creating. We are looking for a proactive person who can skillfully weave together the creative, technical and production realities in a way that keeps our players coming back for more and is genuinely interested in the characters we are portraying. 

This is a permanent position based in Stockholm, Sweden, and requires working onsite. However, since most of us are currently, yet temporarily, working from home - it is possible to work remotely during the first weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the audio team, design team and writers to create original voice audio content
  • Implementation of interactive voice assets into our game engine (stingray)
  • Ownership of the context aware dialogue system pipeline
  • Work with programming teams to provide input on future direction of the dialogue system
  • Maintain voice documentation such as scripts, casting sides, and post-processing details
  • Design audio post-processing effects for voiceovers
  • Debug, maintain and ensure the final product quality
  • Planning of voice-recordings in collaboration with third-party providers



Required Qualifications

  • Shipped at least 1 game in a role with responsibility for voice design
  • Excellent audio engineering skills, working knowledge of modern studio equipment, recording techniques, microphones and industry standard tools
  • Experience in voiceover production, casting and directing actors, recording and editing
  • Strong sound design skills
  • A great technical understanding for commonly used systems for voice over
  • Familiarity with audio middleware applications such as WWise, FMOD
  • Able to manage large-scale voice audio asset production
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • A passion for games.
