We are Fatshark

We are an independent Swedish game development studio located in Södermalm, Stockholm. With about 100 experienced and skilled employees we have worked as contractors for a number of AAA projects, as well as developed titles with publishers and independently for both consoles and PC. Our most recent game is the critically acclaimed title Warhammer: Vermintide 2. We tackle every project, genre and setting with enthusiasm, professionalism and a cup of coffee.

The role

As a Game Data Analyst at Fatshark, you will transform valuable player data into actionable insights for our development teams. You will help design, develop and optimize our games to improve player experiences and game revenue through research and by developing and analysing meaningful KPIs and metrics.

As a game dev studio with online live products, we always strive for being data informed and aware of user behaviour. Using tools, you will collect, interpret and visualise player data and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders at Fatshark.
This is a new and specialised role at Fatshark and you will have a lot of ownership and be the expert within your field. Therefore, the role requires you to be self-propelled and experienced in data analysis / business intelligence.

  • Develop a deep understanding of user behaviour through research and coordinate with management, project team and others to determine appropriate research areas 
  • Cover all three aspects of Data Analysis domain: tracking, reporting and analysis
  • Providing and analyzing metrics on the performance of games and marketing campaigns; identifying the relevant KPIs (using e.g. cohort-level data)
  • Conduct customized analysis to evaluate and guide optimization and calibration on priority topics such as target audience, features, events, monetization, etc (including conducting experiments using statistical techniques to evaluate changes, e.g. A/B-testing)
  • Guide revenue generation and projection through scientific pricing, segmentation and LTV estimates 
  • Identify, maintain and constantly improve the tools which should be used to analyze data and ensure that they are implemented and available to the team.

Required qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience doing quantitative analysis, working in business intelligence or similar 
  • Bachelor degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analysis, Computer Science or related fields
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience in using Python and/or R, SQL to analyse & visualize data. 
  • Experience of working with incomplete data-sets and tooling in constant flux and the ability to handle data transformations for rapid prototyping.
  • Passionate gamer! (work experience from the gaming industry is a bonus)
  • Exposure to visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Professional working proficiency in both spoken and written English (Swedish is not a requirement)
  • Ability to balance technical, design, marketing, business and perspectives 
  • Courage to break conventions and question established truths. 
  • Curiosity and willingness to try out new tools, solutions and techniques.
