We are an independent Swedish game development studio located in Södermalm, Stockholm. With about 100 experienced and skilled employees we have worked as contractors for a number of AAA projects, as well as developed titles with publishers and independently for both consoles and PC. Our most recent game is the critically acclaimed title Warhammer: Vermintide 2. We tackle every project, genre and setting with enthusiasm, professionalism and a cup of coffee.

The role

We are looking for a person who specializes in outsource management, responsible for setting up, communicating & monitoring outsourced assets and the attainment of those deliverables. Alongside this we would like to see the optimisation of processes and pipelines relating to our outsourced assets and the asset database. As an outsourcing manager you will be an essential member of our production team, iterating daily with different disciplines at Fatshark whilst managing our relationships with outsourcing partners and being in the midst of the development of our games. Outsourcing management is a central service at Fatshark, which means you will be working on multiple projects running in parallel, and at the end of the day providing great value for our games and our players.

  • Work with our outsource partners and production to establish a schedule and roadmap for the completion of assets making sure project’s dates are upheld
  • Setup internal team reviews, collate and share feedback amongst our outsource partners within a defined sign off process
  • Maintain healthy relationships with outsourcing partners and work with them to implement high standards (technical and aesthetical) efficiently
  • Seek out new partners, and/or assess skill and ability to deliver to Fatsharks standards for potential partnerships
  • Work with Producers and Studio Management to balance quality, time and costs while maintaining the studio’s high standards
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks to both the project and outsource pipeline and ensure that all security measures are in place
  • Work with the Leads and Directors to create and assess the asset briefs required to ensure the quality of assets for the final product
  • Obtain sign offs for the work carried out by partners at the end of each phase 
  • Ensure that the partners’ teams have the support they require so production runs smoothly 

Required qualifications

  • Professional working experience in managing Outsourcing assets for games
  • Knowledge of the video game industry and production processes, with a particular focus on asset creation
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple requests from different people while working towards a deadline
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with multiple different partners at the same time
  • Exceptional knowledge of issue, task-tracking software (e.g. Jira) and other task tracking tools
  • A problem solving mind-set is essential

Bonus qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years experience in Art, Project Management or any other relevant experience
  • Experience in games asset creations;
  • Outsourcing and/or Co-dev experience is an asset
