We are an independent Swedish game development studio located in Södermalm, Stockholm. With about 75 experienced and skilled employees we have worked as contractors for a number of AAA projects, as well as developed titles with publishers and independently for both consoles and PC. Our most recent game is the critically acclaimed title Warhammer: Vermintide 2. We tackle every project, genre and setting with enthusiasm, professionalism and a cup of coffee.

The role

We are looking for a Junior Prop Artist to join our team, helping us finalize our amazing levels with a high-quality visual flair for current and upcoming projects.

As a Junior Prop Artist, you will be responsible for creating assets needed to fill our glorious gameworlds with life. This includes weapons, skulls, helmets, chairs, tables etc, but also objects to interact with such as levers, generators, gates etc.You will work closely with all departments to ensure that quality and performance goals are met. As a part of a highly motivated and talented team, you will need to be driven, creative and flexible to meet deadlines and sneaky production changes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with level designers, concept artists and level/environment artists creating assets to be used ingame all the way from blockout to shipped quality, optimized and all.
  • Play the game and extract missing assets, create them, and request concept art/paintovers where needed.
  • Collect and address critique and feedback from testers.

Required qualifications

  • A graphical eye with a strong understanding of color, shape, structure, and silhouette.
  • Be able to read and follow a piece of concept art, and being able to improvise without one.
  • Strong technical ability and willingness to learn new tools, techniques and workflows.
  • High level proficiency with 3ds Max, ZBrush, 3dCoat, Substance, Photoshop or equivalent 3D and 2D software
  • Ability to author PBR materials and all associated maps for new or existing assets, as well as classical texturing methods.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Versatility, independence and a sense of initiative are your strong points.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Bonus qualifications

  • Game engine experience, as in Unreal, Unity or similar.
  • Contributed to the development of one or more shipped games for Console or PC.
  • Development of cooperative games.
  • Houdini experience.
  • Strong Warhammer interest.
  • A background in gaming.
  • Degree in art or game design.
