Fatshark is an independent Swedish game development studio located in Södermalm, Stockholm. We are comprised of around 75 skilled developers that have developed a number of titles both independently and for publishers for both console and PC; most recently our critically acclaimed cooperative title Vermintide 2. We tackle every project, genre and setting with enthusiasm, professionalism and a cup of coffee.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Level Designers to join our team, helping us create high-quality levels and top-notch gameplay for current and upcoming projects. As a Level Designer, you will be responsible for the design vision, direction and execution of levels and gameplay, and will work closely with all departments to ensure that quality and performance goals are met. As a part of a highly motivated and talented team, you will need to be driven, creative and flexible to meet deadlines and sneaky production changes.

At Fatshark all members of the team are involved in decision making. We are a small enough team to be agile, but big enough to realize great ideas together. In this highly creative environment collaboration is key. Working in a field where art, design, gameplay and sound comes together, feedback and teamwork skills are crucial in your daily work.

What you will do:

  • Create awesome single player and multiplayer levels and gameplay for any genre or setting we may throw at you.
  • Work closely with game design, art and sound to bring together and unify all game elements.
  • Design, plan out and build levels from start to finish, balancing aesthetics, function vs. form relationships, performance and fun.
  • Construct gameplay through level scripting.
  • Research and incorporate the game's subject matter, story and core.
  • Work self-motivated, efficient and organized.
  • Take in and address critique and feedback from testers.


  • 1-2 years of professional level designer experience
  • Contributed to the development of one or more shipped games for Console or PC
  • Demonstrable experience making fun, high-quality levels and gameplay.
  • Must be able to intelligently analyze and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of level design and game elements of current projects and other games.
  • Visual scripting experience.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handles multiple tasks 


  • Shipped at least 1 AAA or equivalent game
  • Development of cooperative games.
  • Multiplayer map design and building experience
  • Formal education in level design
  • Strong Warhammer interest
  • Background in art or game design
